Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do you prevent carbon black dust from contaminating the production environment?
Our solution combines three layers of dust control: (1) Dust-free feeding stations with built-in cartridge filters capture dust at the bag-opening point; (2) Fully enclosed vacuum conveying systems transport carbon black under negative pressure directly to sealed day bins above the loss-in-weight feeders; (3) The loss-in-weight feeders themselves are designed with dust-tight covers and integrated vent filters. This closed-loop approach eliminates fugitive dust emissions and complies with occupational health standards.
-
Can your loss-in-weight feeders handle the sticky, oily rubber compounds that tend to build up on screw surfaces?
Yes. For sticky materials, we offer several anti-adhesion solutions: (1) PTFE or ceramic-coated screws and barrel liners to reduce material adhesion; (2) Vertical-wall hoppers with mechanical agitators that prevent material bridging; (3) Self-cleaning twin-screw profiles that continuously wipe each other's surfaces during operation. Additionally, our quick-release design enables fast manual cleanout between formula changes, minimizing downtime.
-
Are your systems compliant with ATEX requirements for potentially explosive carbon black dust atmospheres?
Yes. We offer ATEX-certified configurations for Zone 21/22 dust explosion hazard areas. This includes: anti-static design with grounding and bonding throughout; ATEX-rated motors, load cells, and sensors; explosion-proof electrical enclosures; and optional inert gas purging for the conveying system.
-
Can one control system manage multiple feeders and conveyors across the entire rubber compounding line?
Absolutely. Our centralized PLC control system (Siemens-based) can coordinate up to 20 loss-in-weight feeders, multiple vacuum conveying lines, dust collectors, and bulk bag unloaders from a single HMI touchscreen. The system manages recipe selection, feed rate synchronization, alarm monitoring, and data logging. It can also communicate with your plant's DCS or MES via Profibus, Profinet, Modbus TCP, or Ethernet/IP for full production integration.
