Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can your equipment handle corrosive chemicals like acids, chlorides, or oxidizing agents?

Yes. For corrosive applications, we offer construction in 316L stainless steel (standard for moderate corrosion), or PTFE/PFA-lined contact surfaces (for highly aggressive media). All seals, gaskets, bearings, and load cell protection are selected for chemical compatibility. We work with your process engineers to review the complete chemical compatibility matrix before specifying materials of construction.

  • How do you ensure safety when handling combustible dusts like toner, carbon powder, or sulfur?

Safety is our primary design consideration for combustible dust applications. Our ATEX-certified systems include: (1) Full electrical grounding and bonding (<1 ohm resistance throughout); (2) ATEX-rated motors, sensors, solenoids, and control panels; (3) Conductive filter cartridges in dust collectors; (4) Explosion vent panels or flameless venting devices sized per EN 14491; (5) Optional inert gas (N₂ or CO₂) blanketing for the entire conveying and feeding loop.

  • What about materials that absorb moisture from the air—how do you prevent caking in the feeder?

Hygroscopic materials like certain catalysts, pharmaceutical intermediates, and specialty chemicals require moisture exclusion. Our solutions include: (1) Sealed feeder hoppers with gasketed lids and dry air or nitrogen purge connections; (2) Heated hopper jackets (electric or hot water) that maintain material above dew point; (3) Integrated desiccant dryers on the purge air supply; (4) Flexible bellows connections between equipment to create a fully sealed transfer path from bag opening through feeding. For extreme cases, we can supply the entire system inside a nitrogen-blanketed glovebox enclosure.
